Seit seiner Eröffnung 2010 genießt das Centre Pompidou-Metz das Privileg, für seine Ausstellungen auf eine Vielzahl bedeutender Werke des Musée national d’art moderne zurückgreifen zu können, die seine Schauen ebenso wie seine Geschichte geprägt haben. Dies gilt auch für die Ausstellung Unendlicher Sonntag die ein umfassendes Panorama der Sammlung quer durch alle Medien – Malerei, Bildhauerei, Zeichnung, Fotografie, Installation, Video, Film – im Dialog mit Werken von Maurizio Cattelan bietet.
In May 2025, to mark its 15th anniversary, the Centre Pompidou-Metz will fill all of its spaces – the Grande Nef, Galerie 1, the roofs of the galleries and the smallest nooks and crannies of the architecture – with hundreds of works from the collection of the Centre Pompidou, Musée National d’Art Moderne, whose building will be undergoing construction work for a period of several years.
