À l’Ombre d’un doute, the first and only presentation of works acquired over the past fifteen years by the Fonds régional d’art contemporain (Frac) Lorraine, asks the question, How can an essentially obscure object of desire be communicated ? Bearing witness to the Frac’s ongoing engagement with artistic forms that are largely underrepresented in public collections, this exhibition was conceived as a kind of manifesto addressing the impossible materialisation of thought in finite objects. Its presentation of works takes visitors on a journey through imaginary spheres dividing the world into materiality and immateriality, reality and fiction.
