An unprecedented cultural experience

« ust like the Centre Pompidou in 1977, I wanted the Centre Pompidou-Metz to be a new cultural experience with an ambitious programme » Bruno Racine, président of the Centre Pompidou (2002-2007)

The Centre Pompidou-Metz will be a great centre of knowledge, exhibitions, research and initiatives in numerous fields of contemporary creation. It will represent the extended expression of the original Centre Pompidou spirit.
On January 31, 2007, the Centre Pompidou will be 30 years old. Much more than a simple celebration, its birthday will provide the opportunity to the reconsider the role of the centre in a new context. It will be essential for it to constantly remain a reflection of its times.

The Centre Pompidou-Metz, with its twin regional and European identity, was born from a vision integrating European growth, globalisation in the arts and the evolution of French society.
