Members of the Institution

Created in 2010, the Centre Pompidou-Metz is the first original decentralisation of a national public cultural institution, the Centre Pompidou, carried out in partnership with the Metz Métropole Urban Community.

The management

The Director of the Centre Pompidou-Metz is Chiara Parisi, an art historian, appointed for a five-year term of office starting on 2 December 2019. In accordance with the General Code of Local Authorities, she was appointed by the President of the Board of Directors on the proposal of the Board by a two-thirds majority. It has broad autonomy in cultural and scientific matters.

The Board of Directors

The Board of Directors regulates the affairs of the institution through its deliberations. In particular, it deliberates on the general guidelines of the Establishment's policy in the form of an artistic and cultural project, the budget, the admission fee system and the pricing guidelines for cultural services. It is chaired by Laurent Le Bon, President of the Centre Pompidou. The President of Metz Métropole, François Grosdidier, is the vice-president. Jean-Marie Rausch, former minister and mayor of Metz, has been given the title of honorary president of the Centre Pompidou-Metz. The seats on the Centre Pompidou-Metz's board of directors are shared between the Centre Pompidou, the State, Metz Métropole, the Grand Est Region and the City of Metz, with two qualified persons and two staff representatives.

Department of Moselle

As part of a common desire to promote the artistic and cultural development of Moselle, the Départment de la Moselle provides the Centre Pompidou-Metz with an annual grant, within the framework of a multi-year agreement, to support an exhibition of its choice and to encourage associated activities aimed at young people, schoolchildren and those who have the least opportunities of contact with the cultural activities on offer.

Wendel, founding sponsor
